Aldridge Foundation – Website for foundation working with disadvantaged young people

The Aldridge Foundation is a charity that helps to raise the aspirations of disadvantaged young people to give everyone an equal chance at life.


The foundation was looking for a partner to revive their brand and develop a new website that would bring their work to life and better showcase their impact. They wanted to put the voice the young people that they support front and centre.

Bringing work with young people to life

Founded by Sir Rod Aldridge OBE, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, Aldridge Foundation is a small charity with big ambitions to improve the future of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The team were looking for an updated brand and new website that could better showcase their programmes that focus on improving the confidence, aspirations and skills of the young people they work with.

Maintainability was a core consideration for the project as Aldridge was looking for a solution that was easy for staff to maintain and required little input from developers in the future.

Informed by conversations with staff and users

We began by spending time getting to know the organisation better and immersing ourselves in the details of their organisational strategy. We spent time talking to their founder, key staff members, and users to understand their different perspectives on what the updated brand and new website needed to achieve. It is generally in the overlap of internal and external priorities that we tend to find the best solutions. We translated the insights from our consultation into an information architecture which best balanced the needs of different audience groups and tested this with users.

We spent time refining Aldridge’s brand and expanding it to incorporate additional assets such as infographics and an extended image library. The client was looking for a design approach that was energetic and dynamic, which allowed them to tell their story and present the case for fundraising.

A bold new visual approach

The result is a bold step forward, featuring a refreshed visual approach and clearer user experience. The addition of graphic elements give the site a distinctive edge, better reflecting the foundation’s dynamism.

Working with Bureau has been an enjoyable experience thanks to their collaborative, creative approach and seamless communication and project management. The team took their time to understand our brand and charity goals and have transformed them into a fresh and easy to navigate website, boosting our online presence and better showcasing the impact of our work.
